Description
We're hiring a 2nd Cook at the Crest Hotel in Prince Rupert, BC.
Preparing and cooking delicious meals for our guests at the Crest Hotel, is the primary responsibility for this role. We're looking for someone with at least 1 - 3 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, specifically catering for large groups, and including experience preparing seafood. You should be comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen and uphold a commitment to excellence in all culinary tasks.
This role works as part of a team of culinary professionals, and so strong leadership experience, including in managing team and collaborating with multiple departments is important.
There's a learning curve to this role, so we're looking for someone who can actively engaged in training programs and who is willing to seek additional training as needed. We're looking for someone who approaches tasks with a positive and "ready to learn" attitude.
Health and safety is important to us, especially in a kitchen environment. You should be able to demonstrate appropriate compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations while working.
This is a full-time position with 30 to 40 hours of work available per week at a $22.71 hourly wage. There are no formal education requirements for this position as we value experience and a willingness to learn more.
All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Furthermore, there is a physical component to this job that requires the 2nd Cook to be able to reach, bend, push, and pull items as required.
