We are hiring a Front Desk Supervisor at the Crest Hotel in Prince Rupert, BC.

The Front Desk Supervisor oversees daily front desk operations including guest check-in and check-out, reservations management, cash handling, and night audit procedures. This role reports to the Front Office Manager and supervises, trains, and supports Front Desk Agents to deliver consistent service and adherence to hotel standards. That includes supervising, training, and coaching Front Desk Agents on procedures, guest communication, and system use as well as supporting scheduling, shift coverage, and daily operational communications as directed. As such, we are looking for someone with proficiency in property management systems, although we will provide training on Oracle Opera, specifically.

As the Front Desk Supervisor, you'll also handle any guest concerns and service recovery that have been escalated beyond the Front Desk Agents with professionalism and follow-through, so strong guest recovery skills and composure under pressure are critical skills.

Front Desk Supervisors in this position will need at least 2 to 5 years of experience in a hotel environment, with supervisory or shift leadership experience preferred. This is a full-time, unionized position with 40 hours of work available per week at $24.88 per hour. The successful candidate will need to be willing to work some days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

There is a physical component to this position that requires the Front Desk Supervisor to be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 lbs for luggage assistance and front desk operations.

Duties

  • Oversee daily front desk operations and support the Front Office Manager in maintaining service standards.
  • Supervise, train, and coach Front Desk Agents on procedures, guest communication, and system use.
  • Perform and oversee guest check-in, check-out, reservations, and payment processing.
  • Manage and complete night audit procedures including daily reconciliation and reporting.
  • Handle escalated guest concerns and service recovery with professionalism and follow-through.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, shift documentation, and compliance with hotel procedures.
  • Support scheduling, shift coverage, and daily operational communications as directed.

Qualifications

  • Previous front desk or guest services experience in a hotel environment, with supervisory or shift leadership experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in property management systems (training provided on Oracle Opera).
  • Strong guest recovery skills and composure under pressure.
  • Accurate cash handling, reporting, and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs for luggage assistance and front desk operations.

Education

There are no formal educational requirements for this position such as degrees, diplomas, or professional certificates. We would like to see 2 - 5 years of experience in a hotel environment, with supervisory or shift leadership experience preferred.
