Description

We're hiring Servers to join our food and beverage team at the Crest Hotel in Prince Rupert, BC.

The Server provides full table service in the Waterfront Restaurant & Lounge, guiding guests through the dining experience from greeting through settlement. This role requires strong menu knowledge, attentive guest communication, and the ability to manage multiple tables with professionalism and care.

We're looking for enthusiastic, friendly Servers with ideally one to five years of experience who can help us deliver the quality service and local hospitality the Crest Hotel is known for as we continue to grow.

Strong communication skills and a confident, guest-focused presence are essential for this role. Responsibilities include greeting guests, presenting menus, and making recommendations with your in-depth knowledge of the food and beverage program. You will also monitor tables and deliver food and beverages with the correct timing and presentation to maximize enjoyment.

As a Server, you'll need to be comfortable using point-of-sale systems, but we'll provide specific training for using Oracle Simphony, as you'll be responsible for processing payments.

Other duties for a Server include maintaining cleanliness standards, performing opening and closing duties, and supporting other staff members as required.

This role is a full-time position with 40 hours of work per week and a wage of $20.28 per hour. As a Server, you must be available to work some days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of your shift schedule. We require a Serving It Right certification for this position. If you do not have one at the time of hiring, the successful candidate must obtain one within 30 days of hire.

Duties

  • Greet guests, present menus, and guide ordering with knowledge of the food and beverage program.
  • Enter orders accurately through the point-of-sale system, including modifications and allergy notations.
  • Deliver food and beverages with correct timing, sequence, and presentation standards.
  • Monitor tables attentively and respond to guest needs throughout the meal.
  • Process payments accurately, including cash, debit, and credit transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned section, service stations, and side duties.
  • Complete opening, running, and closing duties as assigned.
  • Support team members with food running, bussing, and other service needs during peak periods.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and a confident, guest-focused presence.
  • Comfortable using point of sale systems (training provided on Oracle Simphony).
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift and carry up to 30 lbs, including trays, plates, and service equipment.

Education
