We're hiring an organized, adaptive Site Supervisor to join our team at the Chances Prince Rupert casino.

Reporting to of the Gaming Manager, the Site Supervisor supervises and oversees the day-to-day operations of the gaming floor. You will lead the team with exceptional customer service and provide attentive, prompt, and courteous responses to customer inquiries. You will resolve problems and complaints efficiently, and uphold internal control, company policies and procedures and/or BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) policies and procedures.

Site Supervisor is a supervisory position, and you will be required to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with employees as well as train and mentor staff, so we're looking for someone with exceptional oral and written communication skills, who is also a proactive team player and a good leader.

This is a casino, so all applicants must be 19 years or older. We are looking for someone with Serving it Right, Appropriate Response Training Level 1 and 2, Anti-Money Laundering course completion, and the ability to successfully complete a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB). Additionally, you must be available to work 40 hours per week, including a mix of workdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

There are some physical requirements for this position, including the ability to pull and push carts, lift boxes, stand and walk for long periods of time, and bend, kneel, and twist. The casino has dim lighting and bright, flashing lights, and the Site Supervisor must be able to work in those conditions.

Duties

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service (50% - percentage of employee’s time devoted to this duty)

  • Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention
  • Supervises day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality, standards and meeting the expectations of the customers daily
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
  • De-escalate and resolve customer complaints
  • Escalate concerns to senior management that can not be resolved
  • Explain and interoperated house rules such as game rules and betting limits
  • Market and promote the facility to bring in business
  • Maintain familiarity with all games in the facility
  • Maintain knowledge of current developments on site
  • Monitor what is happening facility wide
  • Making decision and solve problems independently
  • Ensure equipment is being cleaned and maintained
  • Ensure count room is in order and maintained
  • Observing, receiving, and obtaining information from all relevant sources

Upholding Policy and Procedure (30% - percentage of employee’s time devoted to this duty)

  • Work in compliance with internal control, company policies and procedures and/or BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) policies and procedures; report any violations and escalate to the appropriate level as necessary
  • Ensure staffing is antiquate as set forth by BCLC policy and guidelines
  • Make sure all moneys are secured per policy and procedure
  • Hold and maintain the vault including but not limited to count, fills, and coin
  • Ensure privacy policies are upheld
  • Ensure that jackpot policy and procedure is adhered to
  • Ensure Self Serve Terminals, TBC terminals, pull tab are emptied and numbers are recorded
  • Supervise Count and Drop procedures, including verifying numbers are inputted correct in the SDS program
  • Complete and monitor iTrak reporting
  • Verify supervisors’ tills before open
  • Complete daily reports to Gaming Manager
  • Maintain paperwork and print reports

Supervisory (20% - percentage of employee’s time devoted to this duty)

  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensures employees do the same within the team
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example
  • Coach, train, and mentor staff

Qualifications

General Requirements

  • Must be 19+
  • Serving It Right
  • Appropriate Response Training Level 1 and 2
  • Anti-Money Laundering Course
  • The ability to successfully complete a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
  • 2+ years cash handling experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and able to learn in house programs quickly
  • Superior communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to use good judgment
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask
  • Proactive team player but able to perform well independently
  • Ability to workdays, evenings, weekend, and holidays

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use physical exertion to push, pull, and lift boxes filled with currency on a consistent basis
  • Ability to stand and walk for all periods of time on a consistent basis
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist and grip items on a consistent basis

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in environments with loud noise, including but not limited to music, announcements, and slot game play
  • Ability to work in dim lighting with bright flashing lights
