We are looking for a Spa Manager to join our team and assist in the start-up and operation of a new spa in Prince Rupert, BC.

This position will require someone who can assist through the start up and planning phase, which will include developing and implementing services, products, pricing, and protocols as well as working with us to determine the spa layout, equipment needs and supplier partnerships. You will also be required to hire, train, and onboard spa team members, including therapists, aestheticians, receptionists and attendants. As such, we will need someone with a minimum of 3 years of experience in spa management or supervisory experience, preferably in a resort. Certification or a diploma in Spa Management, hospitality, or a related field or proven experience launching or growing a spa would be a considerable asset.

Once the spa is open, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, including staff schedules, licensing and health regulation compliance, inventory management, driving retail sales and treatment upsells through team training and goal setting, and handling guest feedback and resolving issues. This will require leadership, team-building, time-management, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Finally, you'll be responsible for developing and managing the spa's budget; forecasting revenue, costs, and profitability; analyzing performance metrics and generating reports; and identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and profitability.

This is a full-time position with a 40 hour work week and an annual salary of between $70,000 and $80,000 plus performance-based bonuses.

Duties

Spa Pre-Opening (Start-Up Phase)

  • Lead the development and implementation of all spa services, products, pricing, and protocols.
  • Work with ownership/management to determine spa layout, equipment needs, and supplier partnerships.
  • Hire, train, and onboard all spa team members including therapists, aestheticians, receptionists, and attendants.
  • Develop all standard operating procedures (SOPs), health and safety protocols, and guest service standards.
  • Create the treatment menu and recommend retail products aligned with the spa’s brand and guest demographic.
  • Assist in the marketing and pre-launch promotions of the spa.

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations of the spa to ensure smooth, efficient, and guest-focused service delivery.
  • Schedule staff and ensure proper coverage for all services.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, health regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor inventory and manage vendor relationships for spa products and supplies.
  • Drive retail sales and treatment upsells through team training and goal-setting.
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve issues to ensure exceptional service recovery and continuous improvement.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the spa’s budget, forecasting revenue, costs, and profitability.
  • Analyze performance metrics and generate regular operational reports for senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and maximize profitability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of spa management or supervisory experience, preferably in a resort setting.
  • Proven experience launching or growing a spa operation is a strong asset.
  • Certification or diploma in Spa Management, Hospitality, or related wellness field preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of spa software systems
  • Customer-centric, hands-on, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Understanding of current wellness trends, treatments, and guest expectations.
