Bingo Caller

Chances Casino in Prince Rupert

240 West 1st Avenue Prince Rupert BC

Description

We're hiring a part-time Bingo Caller to join our team at Chances Casino in Prince Rupert, BC.

Reporting to the Gaming manager, the Bingo Caller is an enthusiastic, charismatic entertainer for our Bingo patrons. You enjoy performing to an audience and being the centre of attention as you use the operating equipment to conduct the evening bingo program. Experience is welcome, but not strictly required.

Responsibilities as a Bingo Caller include using our in-house computer systems (Kodiak) as well as presiding over Bingo games, which involves announcing game descriptions, prizing, and how to win before the game commences, managing the game play flow, start, stop and slow down play when required, verifying paper Jackpots, and creating the prizing report. As such you must be comfortable performing under pressure and speaking in front of an audience as well as personable and capable of working in fast-paced environments.

Additionally, you'll need to ensure players are served efficiently and in a professional manner as well as aware and excited for on-going and up-coming promotions. Building strong working relationships is critical and of course, we need a team player who can be a part of the supportive environment made up by all Casino staff. You'll also be responsible for maintaining the tidiness of your workspaces, including wiping and sanitizing counters, keyboards, etc.

As a casino, we are subject to the BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) policies and procedures as well as our own internal controls. Part of your jobs as Bingo Caller would be to follow these regulations and report and violations by patrons as well as escalate the matter as necessary. You must also be 19 years of age or older. This is a part-time position with about 20 - 30 hours of work per week, which includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The casino environment is loud, with flashing lights and dim lighting. You must be capable of working in those conditions and also have the ability to use physical exertion to push, pull, and lift boxes and props consistently; stand and walk for long periods of time; and bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items on a consistent basis.

If this position sounds right for you, you can apply by uploading a PDF resume to the application form below or if you would prefer, you can also apply via email or in-person by reaching out to Keli Postulo at gm@chancespr.ca.
