We're looking for a Night Auditor to join our team at the Crest Hotel in Prince Rupert, BC.

This position is responsible for providing professional guest service while ensuring the accuracy and completion of overnight hotel financial and operational processes. Working independently during overnight shifts, the Night Auditor performs front desk duties, guest support, reservations, security monitoring, and daily audit functions to support hotel operations and deliver a high-quality guest experience.

That includes providing courteous and professional guest service during overnight operations as well as answering phones, completing guest check-in and check-out procedures, responding to guest inquiries, and processing reservations, cancellations, and room assignments. As such, we're looking for candidates with ideally previous hotel front desk, customer service, cash handling, or hospitality experience as well as strong customer service and communication skills.

The successful candidate will complete the nightly audit and end-of-day hotel balancing procedures as well as reconcile guest accounts, room charges, payments, and transactions. Additionally, you'll verify daily revenues, prepare financial reports, process cash handling activities, and maintain accurate records. So the successful candidate will need to have strong organizational and problem solving skills as well as basic computer proficiency and either experience with or the ability to learn hotel operating systems.

Other responsibilities include identifying discrepancies and reporting issues and maintenance concerns to management, conduction routine property monitoring, and responding to emergencies. You'll also need to communicate overnight activities to management and incoming shifts. You are also responsible for supporting hotel policies and procedures and promoting a safe environment for guests and employees. This is a full-time position with a 40 hour work week. As a Night Auditor, you will of course need to be willing to work overnight shifts as well as some weekends and holidays. There is a small physical component to this position that requires candidates be able to stand and move throughout the shift and lift up to 25 lbs.

Duties

  • Provide courteous and professional guest service during overnight operations.
  • Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly.
  • Process reservations, cancellations, and room assignments.
  • Operate hotel property management and payment systems.
  • Answer telephone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Complete nightly audit and end-of-day hotel balancing procedures.
  • Reconcile guest accounts, room charges, payments, and transactions.
  • Verify daily revenues and prepare financial reports.
  • Process cash handling activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify discrepancies and report issues to management.
  • Conduct routine property monitoring during overnight hours.
  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Promote a safe environment for guests and employees.
  • Report maintenance concerns, hazards, or security issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and operational logs.
  • Communicate overnight activities to management and incoming shifts.
  • Support hotel policies, procedures, and union collective agreement requirements.
  • Assist other departments as operational needs require.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous hotel front desk, customer service, cash handling, or hospitality experience considered an asset.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn hotel operating systems.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently during overnight operations.

Education

There are no formal education requirements for this position, including and degrees, diplomas, or professional certificates. We would prefer some experience, but your willingness to learn is more important to us.
